It's May 4th , the third day of the Wasi Falls walleye spawning run. Today is also the third day of the LNSA annual walleye restocking campaign. So far our team of volunteers has collected approx.750,000 eggs and we're attempting to meet the 2 million mark by the middle of next week. We'd like to thank all the folks who have volunteered over these past several days and we openly encourage anyone who is interested to come out and witness the event.

The 'Artful' fish wrangler.
MNR staff document and tag each walleye after processing.
Freshly stripped walleye eggs are transferred to a mesh colander.
Walleye eggs are hardened in a continuously circulating bath of fresh lake water.
After 1 hour of hardening, the eggs are measured and ready for transport to the hatchery.
