Petition to the Government of Ontario to Allow More Walleye Restocking of Lake Nipissing.

Lake Nipissing needs your help!!

Dear lodge owner, outdoor retailer, sport angler or concerned citizen,

We’re emailing you to ask for your written support by signing our E-petition! We’re lobbying the Government of Ontario to intervene on the recent restrictions levied by the MNRF regarding our walleye restocking initiative, which was regulated beyond comprehension this past spring, causing us to abandon our efforts for 2015.

Regulating the sport fishery and denying the LNSA the proper stocking rights, in the face of collapsing walleye numbers and continued unregulated gill netting, is not the answer to rehabilitating our lake.  Nipissing’s world-class walleye fishery was built on restocking back in the 1920s. The MNR’s flimsy management plans over the past few decades have contributed little to solving our current problem. Their ‘do-nothing’ approach is absolutely futile under current conditions. Their science is weak and the rationale for their decisions is transparent.  Our businesses are suffering and the longer we wait for the MNRF to gain control over the situation.

We, the LNSA, believe that restocking is the only viable answer under the given conditions at this time. It worked from 1920 to current day and it will continue to work! Let’s not wait for a total collapse before deciding to act. Please sign our petition and encourage your friends and family to do likewise.

The more involvement the better!

Thank you all for supporting the cause!
