The Lake Nipissing Stakeholders Association undertook restocking efforts on Lake Nipissing in mid-April.  This initiative has been ongoing for over thirty years and continues to rely on the efforts of dedicated volunteers.  This years initiative was led by Steve Richards and Pam McLean of South River Resort.  Scott Nelson dedicated a great deal of time passing the torch to Steve and Pam and giving direction to the volunteers present.

The MNR provided the males and females needed for the process and the volunteers took it from there.

Over the span of six days, two million eggs were collected and are now safely in the hatchery where they are developing and getting ready for release.

I hope that the videos and images posted on our Facebook page have been interesting and informative.

We look forward to many more years of working for the betterment of Lake Nipissing.
